The helicopter is a prop that was added in update v0.63 to The Forest.

Overview

The helicopter is located at the bottom of the sinkhole. It is a small aircraft, but it seems to have left a few scrapes and burn marks on the bottom of the pit when it crashed. One of the front windows has been broken out. The helicopter was added at the same time as the machete, which can be found just outside the broken window. A unique outfit, Blacksuit, can be found in a suitcase nearby, perhaps hinting at the identity of the aircraft's passengers.

Theory

• It is currently unknown exactly why the helicopter crashed. It may have been brought down the same way as the plane, presumably by the EMP Shockwave seen on the camcorder video labeled Second Artifact Test.
• The same helicopter can be seen on the camcorder video labeled Megans Arrival. The helicopter was possibly used by either Dr. Cross or the lawyers to get to the peninsula (hinted by the Blacksuit outfit crate located at the helicopter crash site}.

Trivia

• The helicopter appears to be based off a Bell 206 jet Ranger.
